One motorway, one car, no changes
Würzburg suits us well: the A7 starts practically on our doorstep and runs straight to Grombühl without a detour. That makes the trip more predictable than many shorter routes across country – and considerably easier than the train, which from here needs at least one change.
A ride you can plan around
- Motorway from start to finish. That makes the arrival time more reliable than any cross-country route.
- We stay on site. Driving home in between would make no sense over this distance – we wait.
- Several appointments, one plan. If you are taking part in a clinical trial, you rarely have just one appointment. Tell us all of them.
- A companion costs nothing. Please still let us know in advance that someone is coming along.
- Luggage for an inpatient stay come along as a matter of course.
Prescription, approval, co-payment
Long trips follow the same rules as short ones – the justification simply carries more weight. What counts is always the nearest suitable place of treatment; the fact that Würzburg is far away is no argument against it if the treatment there is not available any closer.
- You need a Muster 4 form from the referring or treating practice.
- For outpatient appointments your insurer approves in advance. We take care of that approval, justification included.
- For inpatient admission and discharge no approval is needed at all.
- Co-payment: 10 per cent of the fare, at least 5 and at most 10 euros per trip. Children under 18 pay nothing.
- Billing: directly with your health insurer. You pay nothing up front.

What we drive – and what we do not
- Seated passengers. A folding wheelchair and a rollator come along.
- If you have to stay in your wheelchair, we arrange the trip through our partner firm – one call to us is enough.
- We do not carry out stretcher transports or carry-chair transfers down stairs.

Does my insurer cover the trip to Würzburg?
For inpatient admission and discharge without approval, for outpatient appointments with. We obtain it and set out the reasons.
Do you wait during the examination?
Yes. Over this distance we stay on site as a matter of principle, however long it takes.
I am insured in Baden-Württemberg and travelling to Bavaria. Is that a problem?
No. The federal state makes no difference to reimbursement.
Can you also drive at the weekend?
On Saturdays yes, from 09:00. For Sundays and earlier times we need prior arrangement.
