Medical transport to Klinikum Heidenheim
Admission in the morning, discharge at midday, an outpatient appointment in between: Brenz Taxi takes you to Schloßhaustraße 100 and home again – 17 minutes from Giengen, 11 from Herbrechtingen, 18 from Gerstetten. The prescription is enough, and billing goes directly to your insurer.

The day of discharge is the most unsettled one
You find out in the morning that it is happening today, the paperwork comes later than promised, and the call home reaches nobody. That is exactly what we are here for: you call when the moment comes, and we come – without anyone in the family having to take time off work.
- Short notice is the normal case. Discharges cannot be planned. We work around them, not the other way round.
- We carry your luggage. A bag, flowers, a walking aid – after a week on the ward that is more than you can carry yourself.
- All the way to your door. Not just to the kerb. If there are stairs, we come with you.
- A companion travels free of charge. We only need to know in advance who is coming along.
- As far as the reception desk, not just to the kerb. If you like, we come inside with you and sit with you until you are called.
- Before 06:30 as well. If your admission is at seven, we arrange that in advance.
Admission, discharge, outpatient clinic – three different trips
The three cases look the same from where you stand, but your insurer treats them differently. So that you know where you stand:
Admission and discharge
Inpatient, meaning with an overnight stay. Your insurer covers the trip without prior approval. All you need is a Muster 4 form – on discharge the ward issues it.
Outpatient appointment
Consultation, check-up, examination. This trip is only reimbursable in exceptional cases and needs approval. Ask us beforehand – we will tell you frankly whether it applies in your case.
Who pays for the trip to hospital?
- Hospital admission and discharge: Your insurer covers the trip without it having to be approved in advance.
- Prescription: Form Muster 4. For the discharge trip the ward issues the form – ask for it before you clear your room.
- Co-payment: 10 per cent of the fare, at least 5 and at most 10 euros per trip. Children under 18 pay nothing.
- Billing: directly with your health insurer. You pay nothing up front.
- Just an outpatient appointment? Then an exceptional reason and an approval are needed. Call us and we will tell you whether that applies in your case.

What we drive – and what we do not
- Seated passengers. A folding wheelchair and a rollator come along.
- If you have to stay in your wheelchair, we arrange the trip through our partner firm – one call to us is enough.
- We do not carry out stretcher transports or carry-chair transfers down stairs.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the trip from Giengen to Klinikum Heidenheim take?
About 17 minutes for 12.8 kilometres. For an admission we pull up at your door 25 minutes before the appointment.
I am being discharged today and do not yet know exactly when. What should I do?
Just get in touch when the paperwork is ready. Half an hour's notice is usually enough for us – and you are welcome to give us a heads-up in the morning.
Does my insurer pay for the trip to hospital?
For inpatient admission and discharge yes, and without approval. The co-payment of 10 per cent, at least 5 and at most 10 euros per trip, still applies.
And if I only need the outpatient clinic?
Then the trip requires approval and is only covered in certain cases. Call us and we will tell you in advance where you stand, rather than surprising you with the invoice.
Do you also drive at night?
Monday to Thursday until 24:00, Friday and Saturday until 04:00. On Sundays and outside these hours by prior arrangement.
