For Niederstotzingen, Sontheim, Hermaringen and the villages along the Danube, Günzburg is the nearest hospital – closer than Heidenheim and considerably closer than Ulm. The fact that it is in Bavaria makes no difference to your health insurer, and none at all to us: we drive this route every day.
- Across the state border like any other road. We bill with insurers in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg alike.
- Three buildings, one avenue. Hospital, dialysis and radiotherapy sit side by side. If you have several appointments, we combine them.
- Discharge according to the ward's schedule. We come when you are finished, not when it suits us.
- A companion costs nothing. Please still let us know in advance that someone is coming along.
- We come inside with you, if you would like that or you are not feeling well that day – as far as the reception desk, and into the waiting room if need be.
- We take your luggage and aids along and carry it to your front door.
Admission, discharge, outpatient clinic – three different trips
The three cases look the same from where you stand, but your insurer treats them differently. So that you know where you stand:
Admission and discharge
Inpatient, meaning with an overnight stay. Your insurer covers the trip without prior approval. All you need is a Muster 4 form – on discharge the ward issues it.
Outpatient appointment
Consultation, check-up, examination. This trip is only reimbursable in exceptional cases and needs approval. Ask us beforehand – we will tell you frankly whether it applies in your case.
Who pays for the trip to hospital?
- Hospital admission and discharge: Your insurer covers the trip without it having to be approved in advance.
- Prescription: Form Muster 4. For the discharge trip the ward issues the form – ask for it before you clear your room.
- Co-payment: 10 per cent of the fare, at least 5 and at most 10 euros per trip. Children under 18 pay nothing.
- Billing: directly with your health insurer. You pay nothing up front.
- Just an outpatient appointment? Then an exceptional reason and an approval are needed. Call us and we will tell you whether that applies in your case.

Where we stop, plainly put
We transport seated. A rollator or a folding wheelchair comes along as a matter of course, and we load and unload it ourselves. If you cannot leave your wheelchair, call us anyway: we have a partner firm for that and organise the trip, so you do not have to keep searching yourself.

I am insured in Baden-Württemberg. Does my insurer pay for a clinic in Bavaria?
Yes. What counts is the nearest suitable clinic, not the federal state. For the Danube villages that is often Günzburg.
Can you collect me later on the day of discharge too?
Yes. Call when the paperwork is ready – we plan the day so that we stay flexible.
