Who pays – the honest part
Your insurer does not pay for a trip of this length because you would like to go there, but because the treatment is not available any closer. With a centre like the one in Tübingen that is often the case, but it stands or falls with the justification on the application – and we write that.
- Muster 4 form from your doctor. Counted separately for the outward and return trip if you stay overnight.
- Approval only for outpatient appointments. Admission and discharge need none.
- Co-payment: 10 per cent of the fare, at least 5 and at most 10 euros per trip. Children under 18 pay nothing.
- Billing: directly with your health insurer. You pay nothing up front.
- This is exactly where the approval pays off: Specialist outpatient clinics are the textbook example of treatment that is not available close to home. That is exactly what we put in the justification.

Where we stop, plainly put
We transport seated. A rollator or a folding wheelchair comes along as a matter of course, and we load and unload it ourselves. If you cannot leave your wheelchair, call us anyway: we have a partner firm for that and organise the trip, so you do not have to keep searching yourself.

About 1 hour 42 minutes for roughly 125 kilometres. We set off from your door just under two hours before the appointment.
Does my health insurer pay for a trip of over 120 kilometres?
If the treatment is not possible any closer, yes. Outpatient appointments need an approval with a justification for it – and we write that too.
Do you wait in Tübingen, or drive back in the meantime?
We stay on site. Over this distance anything else would make no sense – and it changes nothing about the price for you.
Can you handle the journey home after an inpatient stay as well?
Yes. Let us know as soon as the discharge date is settled, even if the time of day is still open.
Does the trip cost me more than a short one?
Not with a prescribed and approved trip: the statutory co-payment of at most 10 euros per trip is all there is.
