Patient transport to Stuttgart – Klinikum Stuttgart and specialist clinics
Just under an hour and a half from Heidenheim, about the same from Giengen: Brenz Taxi takes you to the Stuttgart hospitals – Katharinenhospital, Olgahospital, Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus – and back again. No changes, no hunting for a car park.
The destination at a glance
In Stuttgart the city centre is the bottleneck
The route as far as the city limits is predictable, the last three kilometres are not. Kriegsbergstraße and Auerbachstraße both lie inside the low-emission zone, there is practically nowhere to park, and anyone arriving in their own car loses twenty minutes in a multi-storey car park at the end. We drop you off at the entrance drive and pick you up there again.
What you save by riding with us
- Hunting for a parking garage. We stop at the drop-off point and collect you there again.
- The walk from the parking deck. In Stuttgart hospitals, ten minutes easily separate the parking space from the ward.
- The low-emission zone. Our cars are allowed in, a hire car is not always.
- Changing vehicles. From here by train means changing in Aalen or Ulm, plus a tram ride.
- A companion travels free of charge. We only need to know in advance who is coming along.
Prescription, approval, co-payment
Long trips follow the same rules as short ones – the justification simply carries more weight. What counts is always the nearest suitable place of treatment; the fact that Stuttgart is far away is no argument against it if the treatment there is not available any closer.
- You need a Muster 4 form from the referring or treating practice.
- For outpatient appointments your insurer approves in advance. We take care of that approval, justification included.
- For inpatient admission and discharge no approval is needed at all.
- Co-payment: 10 per cent of the fare, at least 5 and at most 10 euros per trip. Children under 18 pay nothing.
- Billing: directly with your health insurer. You pay nothing up front.

Seated – and what that means
Our vehicles are set up for seated transport. A walking aid, rollator, oxygen unit and folding wheelchair travel with you. If you cannot be transported seated, please tell us when we first arrange the appointment – we then organise the trip through a partner firm or point you to the right place, rather than leaving you stranded on the day.
Driving time – from your town
Guide figures without traffic, from the centre of town and via the motorway. The right-hand column is our departure time: driving time plus ten minutes. On routes over two hours we also plan a break and agree the departure with you personally beforehand.

Which Stuttgart hospital do you drive to?
All of them. Most often Katharinenhospital, Olgahospital and Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus, plus Marienhospital, Diakonie-Klinikum and Klinik Schillerhöhe in Gerlingen – and any practice or specialist centre in the city.
Does my insurer pay for the trip to Stuttgart?
For inpatient admission and discharge yes, without approval. Outpatient only with approval and a justification. We take care of that.
My child has to go to the Olgahospital. May I travel with them?
Yes, of course and free of charge. Just let us know in advance who is coming along.
Can you drive me home the same day after treatment?
Yes, that is the normal case. We wait on site until you are finished.
