From Sontheim, Niederstotzingen and the Bavarian villages south of the Brenz, Augsburg is easy to reach via the A8 – often faster than Stuttgart and less trouble than Tübingen. Does my insurer pay for a trip to Augsburg?
The principle is: to the nearest suitable place of treatment. If the treatment you need is available only there – and with specialist centres that is often the case – then Augsburg is precisely that place.
- Hospital admission and discharge: reimbursable without prior approval, regardless of the distance.
- Outpatient appointment: requires approval, with a justification. We obtain the approval and write the justification as well.
- Co-payment: 10 per cent of the fare, at least 5 and at most 10 euros per trip. Children under 18 pay nothing.
- Billing: directly with your health insurer. You pay nothing up front.
- If it is refused you hear it from us beforehand, not from the invoice. We then talk about a fixed price.

- If you have to stay in your wheelchair, we arrange the trip through our partner firm – one call to us is enough.
- We do not carry out stretcher transports or carry-chair transfers down stairs.
