Transport to radiotherapy at Ulm University Hospital
Anyone travelling from the Brenz valley to radiotherapy on Albert-Einstein-Allee goes every working day for six weeks – 32 minutes from Giengen, 30 from Niederstotzingen. Brenz Taxi handles the whole series at fixed times, waits on site and obtains the approval from your insurer.

The hill is the problem, not the kilometres
The Obere Eselsberg sits above the city, the hospital grounds are vast and the signposting reliably leads strangers straight past the right entrance. If you have to go there every day for five weeks, you do not want to work it out afresh each morning – least of all in the car of a relative who is taking time off to drive you.
- Always the same route, always the same time. We enter your series once. After that you never have to book again.
- We wait. Even when the linear accelerator runs late and twenty minutes turn into two hours. That costs nothing extra and is not up for discussion with us.
- The same driver wherever possible. We make a consistent effort – with a series running over weeks that makes the difference.
- We come inside with you, if you would like that or you are not feeling well that day – as far as the reception desk, and into the waiting room if need be.
- A companion travels free of charge. We only need to know in advance who is coming along.
- Tiredness sets in later. In the last two weeks of a course of radiotherapy the exhaustion is at its worst. We collect you at the entrance then, not at the car park.
Prescription, approval, co-payment
- Prescription: Form Muster 4, issued for the whole series – not per trip. Your treating practice issues it.
- Approval: Oncological radiotherapy counts as a high-frequency treatment, box 1d on the form. It requires approval, but insurers grant it as a matter of course for this indication. We obtain the approval for you.
- Co-payment: 10 per cent of the fare, at least 5 and at most 10 euros per trip. Children under 18 pay nothing.
- Co-payment exemption: With a long series of trips the annual cap is reached quickly. After that you pay nothing at all – applying to your insurer is almost always worth it.
- Billing: directly with your health insurer. You pay nothing up front.

If something else comes up
Many series do not run on their own: chemotherapy at the MVZ on Olgastraße, check-ups at the university hospital, radiotherapy in between. Tell us all the appointments at once – we arrange them so that you do not have to travel to Ulm twice in one day.
Where we stop, plainly put
We transport seated. A rollator or a folding wheelchair comes along as a matter of course, and we load and unload it ourselves. If you cannot leave your wheelchair, call us anyway: we have a partner firm for that and organise the trip, so you do not have to keep searching yourself.

How long does the trip from Giengen to radiotherapy in Ulm take?

I have to go every day for six weeks. Do I have to call every time?
No. You tell us the series once – days of the week, time, period. After that we are there without you doing anything.
Does my insurer pay for the trip to Ulm even though radiotherapy is also available in Heidenheim?
If your doctor refers you to the university hospital, that is the suitable place of treatment – and your insurer then covers the trip there. We obtain the approval and word the justification as well.
What happens if my appointment is moved or the machine breaks down?
One call is enough, even at short notice. We come later or collect you earlier – the rest of the series stays as it is.
Can my daughter come along?
Yes, free of charge. We just want to know in advance that she is coming along.
